    Default Roll Bar Help Please

I have decided that I need a roll bar. I have an NA, all stock including seat for now. Im 6ft tall. My head is barely under the windshield frame with helmet. I have a hard top I rarely take off. My soft top has a glass window but i dont care much, as I need to replace it, I might just ditch the soft top all together and remove the frame. I want to drive my car on the street. What do you all think?

Hard Dog, double diagonal, harness bar, for hard top. Which one should I get? I want one by the time I goto Hallett. I figure it would be better to have something to duck behind then nothing at all.

    Thanks for any advice!

Hey Greg, I've got the hard dog hard core double diagonal hardtop version on my NB with stock seats. Ordered it through William at TDR. I'm in North Richland Hills if you want to take a look at it, sit in the car, check visibility, etc. Should be around most of the day tomorrow. Just PM me for directions.

Just so you know, if a roll bar fits under your hardtop and you are 6' tall, you will probably need to do something about your seats if you want to fit under it (foamectomy, race seat, etc.). There just isn't that much space under the hardtop (or the softtop, for that matter) to get a bar in there to protect you and still get it high and back enough to keep it away from a tall person's head. I still think a roll bar is pretty much mandatory in a convertible, but just wanted you to be aware.

In my opinion, test fit a bunch of them, everybody fits differently.
I'm 6'2" and I've got a hardcore HT in my NA. I've also got probably as extreme of a foamectomy as you'll get out of the stock seats. It's a tight fit, but it works pretty good for me. The hard dog SFI padding is a must if your noggin is as close to the bar as mine is.

I'm in Euless off 183, if you're in the area your welcome to come by and test fit. FWIW my driver seat is foamectomied, and passenger seat is factory so you could get a feel for ether setup.

I go everywhere with a good motor... it's just getting home with one that's sometimes a problem

I'm planning on going but then again I haven't told, er... asked the yet.

Good points by cwisenheimer and jiggerachi. I'm 5'11" and in my stock seat sit too tall for the bar. Eventually I'll get a seat for autocross/track days, may do a foamectomy in the near term.

I also got the hard dog SFI padding and leather wrap when I bought my bar. Hopefully I'll never need it but it'll be better than banging my noggin on the bare bar if so.

I have the Hard Dog Sport with SFI padding and leather wrap too. A head-padding impact would be way better than a head-bar impact, yes, but it's something I hope to never try. The SFI padding is safer but it ain't cushy.

+1 Hard Dog, Hard Core, Double Diagonal, Hard Top /w SFI padding & vinyl wrap. I got the harness bar also. At 5'10" I'm not under the bar with my helmet with stock seats. I had ordered directly from Bethania, it was several weeks for delivery.
