    Default New Guy Introduction

    Hello All,

I'm in the North Dallas area and I own a very nice almost stock 2004 Mazdaspeed (red) with 32k miles. Mods are aftermarket cruise control and MP3 player replacing 6-disk. This is my second Miata. The first was a 97 that I got from a salvage dealer and had rebuilt by Jeff Boyd I believe. I may have been his first customer as he was still working at a body shop while restoring my Miata. This was an amazing restoration where he replaced the entire front frame with one from another car and my car was good as new. If anyone is interested I can drop the before/after photos on photobucket.

I was doing some research on the Mazdaspeeds and I think I may have a weird configuration. I have the red/black leather seats along with red door inserts which look like they should have been deleted. Is this configuration comon or odd?

As an aside I also own a 93 RX-7 R1 edition (black) with around 38k miles. This one has mods to the exhaust, clutch/flywheel, and a vintage kick-ass Alpine sound system. It's currently in storage because I enjoy driving the Miata so much. One day I will get the interior, paint, and rear wing restored and start driving it again. Probably when I get a house with a big enough garage to store it safely.

I'm also looking to get a new clutch/flywheel for the Miata. I'm looking at a Flyin Miata Happy Meal with street clutch. They recommend a lighter FW for turbos so I was wondering if anyone can relate their experience. I was also hoping for some advice on an installer. I've used Miata Technologies in the past and have had good experiences but I would like to know if there are any other Miata shops so that I can get some competitive bids.

Welcome. I would highly recommend Track Dog Racing or Miata Solutions (both forum members) for a clutch. My car is currently at Track Dog Racing getting a new-to-me engine and clutch.

    Welcome fellow MSM owner!

I was doing some research on the Mazdaspeeds and I think I may have a weird configuration. I have the red/black leather seats along with red door inserts which look like they should have been deleted. Is this configuration comon or odd?
The red inserts are the non-GT version. You have a vinyl top as well? This is the GT interior (in the TI version)
