    Default Looking for best pricing & dealer for an NC

    My buddy who I let drive Beowulf is looking to buy a new Hard Top Roadster and also lives in The Colony.
    Anyone have a contact for best pricing and a good dealer to work with?

    I'd get on Autotrader and email a group of local dealers looking to strike a deal (don't give them a phone number)....start playing them off each other.

    I did that when I bought my wife's last 2 cars for her and it worked out well.

    Gentlemen (term used loosely), all dealerships are business and want to sell cars. Go to Edmunds.com, work up the car as you want it and you will see the invoice price. Expect to pay +/- $1-200 in either direction. With the MX5 figure $200 under unless the car you want is not in the area for them to trade. The bargaining is always on the trade in (if you have one). That's where $$ are won or lost. I would recommend using the closest dealer and establishing a relationship as that is where you will service your new car. I used Classic in Denton and since they also have serviced and supplied me with some Mazdaspeed parts, they treat me well. I just bought a new Mazda 3 for my daughter and got a smokin good deal because I am a regular there. It's all about relationship buiolding. You'll get better service after the fact and you're gonna pay basically the same price anywhere.

    Oh, and don't talk to the sales guy other than to see the car. Make your deal with the manager. Know your numbers going in and only talk if you are ready to buy. Don't BS them and they likely wont BS you

    I'd offer $200 over invoice, walk out with keys.

    Classic has a sweet white NC2 in front right now that I drive by everyday and get pissed that I don't own.

    It also helps to pre-arrange your financing through a third party. That way, you can start with a base rate that you know you will quality for. They will often beat that rate, but if you don't have a low starting point, then they could have just offered whatever rate.
