These days I'm a manager who doesn't have time to do much actual engineering any more. Does that make my opinion more valid?

    I forgot... Absolutely not.

I could probably run a thermal sim and you could manage it.

As an engineer, I never have an opinion. Only data.

What happened to the previous two hubs? Did you go off course? Or do they wear out from heat as well? Dang, this is going to be an expensive hobby, lol.

The design of the car and the rotor venting plays a large role in this, but based on talking with this guy I'm not convinced that the hubs see near as much heat as most people think they do.

FWIW, this would be a great place to try some heat tape to actually measure the temps.
~400*f with little brakes, <200 with my big brakes where the hub bolts to the rotor. I went from like 2-weekends on a bearing to like 2+ years.

Point the air at the hub so air flow through the rotor. Pointing it at the face of the rotor is full-on retardation.

For the discussion, right now I have temp strips on:
water neck at the rear of the head, radiator inlet, radiator outlet, oil cooler inlet, oil cooler outlet, rotor, calipers front and rear, oil pan, trans, rear end...and I think that's it. They usually stay there forever if the numbers are reasonable.

A little of both. I had alot of offs when learning but the NC1 hubs weren't as stout as the 09 RX8s were. Hopefully, your NC2 has better bearings. If you want to save money, try golf.

best lap with video form the toy run. the data is a bit behind the video, my first time trying to use dashware. Ken tells me i also need to swap the inputs for the g-meter.

Yea, I couldn't find the Toy Run thread either and did the same thing initially. It is because THIS thread is probably in the wrong sub-forum. Look for the Toy Run thread under "motorsports events"
