Default Manual on/off switch for radiator cooling fan?

Can anyone guide me through the steps of installing a manual on/off switch for my radiator fan that I can control from center console/dash? It seems simple but I've never rigged up a switch like that. Reason is because my fan randomly stops working sometimes and the car starts overheating because of it.

And you think thats going to keep it from overheating?
Its easier to just replace the dead spotted motor.

Miatas have good cooling systems, provided they are functioning properly. Fix the problem properly and you will be good to go.

well its bc theres actually something wrong with the actual fan "switch" that goes right above the thermostat. my fan starts running when i turn the key, so i know it works from the start, but when it starts overheating after a rough drive i pull over, shut the car off, and turn the key to see if the fan starts and no response.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on Miatas having a "good coolling system".

Normally aspirated Miata cooling system is up to the task. Boosted is a whole different ball game. I agree with the consensus. Fix the problem, don't just add a band-aid.
