Pretty sure 159 mph is not accurate...but glad she had fun anyway!
I had a blast. This was my first track day. Here is a video I took. We also want to thank instructor Amy for giving my daughter a joy ride in her Mustang. She told me she hit 159mph down the long straight. Not sure if that's accurate. But here's the video I took in the Miata.

Yeah, I've been watching a bunch of youtube videos from the track with a lot of different cars. Some had the in car speedometer in the video and none got close to that. So I wasn't sure. Either way, she said it felt like they were flying. LOL. Glad she had a good time.
Some of the videos had data on the screen for g-force, speed, rpm, all that jazz. Anyone know how they're doing that?
Also, how does one move up from the green group to the blue group?
The red Mustang has been sneaking up on 150mph. We've been taking data, and I'm pretty sure they were running the SOLO data acquisition during the event. We'll parse it this week and post any videos and the high points of the data.
sorry if i didn't get to meet all of you. I set a personal best in session 2 of 2:03.4-ish and then beat that again in the last session with a 2:02.53. Still fighting overheating sadly. FWIW, ive hit 130ish on that back straight in my 12 boss 302 carrying much less speed through the corner leading onto the back straight that Amy carries in the red Vorshlag car, I totally can see that car hitting 150 or better back there.
I think 130 is reasonable for that car. I hit 107 in the NC, and none of my corner exit speeds leading into it were particularly good yesterday.

great pics in that collection linked up a few posts! I'm rendering video of my last session. I never fail to get my go pro out of sync so all i have is a interior video form a camera i was testing out called a Drift HD. Turns out I mounted it incorrectly so rather than widescreen, its rather narrow. it does give a nice view of the speedo at least, people always ask "how fast were you going" i always say i dont know since im looking at the track. lol
I think I'm doing 100 at the end of the straight but am too scared to look down. The straights terrify me and it's not until I am in the corners before I can relax and look down at gauges. That's when I think about what line I'm going to try to take thru the next straight.
PS. I haven't even viewed my video yet much load and edit it. Had to work late last night and will be working again tonight so it will be a few days. Should be some good stuff but I have no idea on my times.

No way anything there hit 150 not even the Diasio. GT-R hit indicated 125 on the longest straight. Ran similar lap times 1:58-1:59.

No AWD in a Mustang...
I really want to see the video to prove me wrong, but 150+ mph on that back straight is huge speed. I think a few cars can get there, but most won't make that left turn at the end. The faster you go, the longer it takes to slow down, effectively reducing the length of that back straight.
If the Vorshlag Mustang did it, my hats off to the car and the driver.

Here is my video of the last instructor session:
i didn't get the camera mounted right so the video is narrow, if you go full screen you can see the speedo. This is the only video i have where you can see how fast the car is going in the corners and on the straights.
yes I know the mustang doesn't have AWD, the other guy was driving the GT-R unless i missed something. i gathered he was saying the gt-r only went 125 on the back straight so the mustang couldn't have been that fast. i was saying that his gt-r corner speed might be higher thanks to AWD allowing for a slower top speed on the back straight, but equal lap times. either way, sub 2 minutes if flying at ECR. Anyone else have videos?
You need something like an AiM SOLO, VBOX, other to capture the data and Dashware to overlay it or Harry's Lap timer on the iPhone. The SOLO or Vbox will allow you to analysis your laps.
Go to a DE at ECR or Apex with an instructor. Tell them you would like to work on moving up and they will work with you and help you progress. Going once a year to the Toy Run is difficult to move up.
Nice Job!
There is no way the Mustang hit 150 on the back straight. If it did it would run out of track to stop. Hitting 150 would give it a lower lap time than 1:56. I ran a 1:58 and hit 116MPH. Also remember the speedo is greatly inaccurate.

whatever speeds you guys hit, those are some nice lap times. ken how was COTA, and where's the video of you scaring people.
FWIW, I hit 115 back there and ran a 2:02. I also thought i was going to end up in the grass, the brake pads died a hot death on that lap. Ken on the crap software that comes with the Solo is there a way to export a video that has your dashboard stuff and the gps track thing showing where you were when the speeds happened? There is no way the Mustang hit 150 on the back straight.
