lol, i figured he was following your line really, really closely.

I was standing at the pit-in wall for both of those. My first thought: Ken-o was appreciating the crap out of his brakes.

Help yourselves to the pics. 140 people ran this event, a new record for Toy Run. Big shout out to Brad Flack for running the event - very well done!

Amy drove her red 2011 GT to low 1:59s on V710s ("The tires are dead!") and I hooned my 2013 GT to 2:04.6 on street tires, with stock power (adding ASTs dropped my lap times 3 seconds)

Tons of Miatas were there, of course. All the cool kids have one!
This was hilarious! One Miata goes off, the rest follow?
What is it with spinning Miatas?
(continued below... 10 pic limit?!)

Left: KenO with a pucker moment passing a spinning Legends car. Right: I wonder if Ken got around the red car?
Well, while he did pass me in my nearly stock Mustang, he didn't pass all of the "American Iron"...

Andy Hollis brought his One Lap CRX to ECR for the first time and managed 2:03s on street tires (dats fast!). He spun right in front of and then got passed by Amy's daily driver. :P
Ahh, I see the confusion... Amy was running 1:59 lap times, not 159 mph. On the back straight it runs only about 120 mph on the data log. And the car was off its previous best times. In October I ran this car to a 1:56.5 best lap at a NASA TT event, and in November Amy ran the car to a 1:57.7 best. The same set-up and tires on all 3 recent events. Weird.
Cheers...

ASTS? Assists? Sorry, don't know that term.
dampers :)

They're magically delicious. 949 sells a custom spec'd AST for miatas. Well worth the price of admission. Pretty sure if I ever buy coilovers again for another car it will be from those dutch wizards.

i want a set to replace my koni sports and GC sleeves. Too bad i have to spend my loot on keeping the little beast cool and replacing the brakes for now. a gain of 3 seconds like terry would put me sub-2 min and I'd be a happy guy for at least a session before wanting to go faster. it's an illness.
Strathound, look at 949's Xidas. They're AST's and come in different flavors starting well below $3k.

I want these with helpers and the nb top mounts.
http://949racing.com/xida-club-sport...ver-miata.aspx
everytime im over there drooling over parts at 949's site, i wonder if the fancier top mounts that are billet make such a big difference to qualify for the extra hundreds the next step up costs. the CS and the normal xidas are the same other than those tops according to the description.
My rear helpers do nothing. They only fractionally marginally uncompressed at full droop. I'm not sure I'd get them again if I had it to do over. I'm going to switch from 550/350 springs to 700/400 in the future. Maybe they will play better with the Xidas then... I'm at 4"/4"+ front/rear pinch weld heights.

The mini car spin in front of me actually happen very slow. I watch his rear letting go and waiting to see which direction he would go after the spin.
The One Lap Honda has power. I could not pull on it down the straights but made up for it in the turns and got around him. The Ferrari sucked, two laps of every station displaying a passing flag. . I was all over it in the turns and thought about a pass in the turns. But since it was the track owner or owner's wife I backed off.
My M3 has an intake, exhaust, tune, springs, and ASTs. It can run the same times of cars with much more power. You do the math.
M3 is always the answer.
VW Bug in running shoes
M Porcupine sedan
M Porcupine coupe
Crusty old e46 beater
Battery Powered appliance car
That seems to be how it usually happens. My wife is worried that someone would lose control in front of her and she would hit them. I tried to explain that you usually see it coming a mile away and have time to back off.
Always easy to discount the driver.
