How to trim the Moss Motors Protective Grille to fit with baby teeth

I'm hoping it helps anyone who is debating doing this to a new grille.
I know it may look better to remove the baby teeth, but they have come in handy for me a couple of times.
This same method works for the tow hooks that mount in the same area.

I've been thnking of getting another one of those. I had one on a previous Miata. I'm to TCB though. I want to make my own and save $$$. I just don't know where to source the grill material.

I thought about seeing if Home Depot or Lowes had any grille-like material, but I liked the fact that it was pre-cut and came with the rubber guard around the edge.
AutoZone has long rolls of door edge guard for ~$11.99 that would work the same way and not end up peeling and looking like crap. They have more of a flat black look as they don't have the clear plastic coating which peels off anyway.
