I think they were advertising at the race that F1 was going to be on NBC and NBC Sports next year.

Turn 12 grandstand was awesome, especially at the apex of the corner following the longest straight. You could see the entire infield section.

Wow, no chatter for 2013? It's barely a month away...

If I can grab single day tickets for Sunday i'll be there. I work 12hr shifts over the weekend and only have one vacation day left... For MotoGP they sold single day tickets, so I hope they do for this one as well.

I'll be down there in two weeks for the SVRA National Championships, but I'm going to sit F1 out this year.

Will be there all 3 days. Was smart and bought a parking pass this year. If anyone wants to get in on it and share the cost to carpool to the track rather than taking the 2 hr shuttle line PM me.

^At the MotoGP I parked on some guy's lawn just outside the track for 12 bucks...i'm just assuming that's not going to be a reality with the F1 weekend. Damn I hadn't thought about parking yet...

How bad was the parking / shuttle situation last year? I may have my kids with me.

It was pretty bad last year. We took the shuttle from the airport and Fri/Sat was good and Sunday was 1 hr wait. I understand from the main parking shuttles it was terrible some 2-3 hr waits. $200 for parking pass is well worth it IMO.

I'm thinking about going this year since theres plenty of GA tickets left. Would waking up early on Sunday and driving down there be highly discouraged?

After the MotoGP race in April, we ran into a ton of traffic driving back on 35, spotty all the way through Waco. I think there was some construction that factored, but i'm sure the F1 race will have a lot more cars heading north than MotoGP. Just another thing to consider, FWIW and YMMV.

I'd drive down sat night and spend the night in georgetown or somewhere to take a few hours off the ride at a more reasonably priced hotel. sunday afternoon is going to suck. you can go a little east then catch 95 in Elgin. This will drop you off just north of temple on 35 off the dodgen loop. may take some of the edge off the drive..

I left last year after the race and made it home in 2.5 hrs.

COTA to Frisco is 233 miles. That's an average speed of 93 MPH. Are you sure about that?
