Thread: I have no garage D:

Unhappy I have no garage D:

I live at The Heights at Park Lane, and working on cars in the parking garage is not allowed. I have a bunch of minor things on my car I'd love to do myself (gap between hood and bumper cover, fix seat belt retraction, replace silly CF exhaust tip, change brakes and rotors, refresh headlights/dash/instrument panel, rotate tires, etc.), but have nowhere to do them. Do you know of a place nearby to do stuff like this? I have basic tools, but no floor lift or car-specific tools – can probably rent some of these.

Family is in New Braunfels, and most of my friends are still in apartments. There's a place in Denton, but I'm not driving an hour for minor things. I may also consider renting a storage unit for a month, but that'll be around $250 for a decent size and power – something I'll only do if I have $250+ worth of labor I want done and can do myself with the tools I have.

Also, since you read my post, you get a dancing banana:

Jack Junkies in Plano is an excellent facility to rent by the hour. Otherwise, getting to know people here on the board you may find someone willing to host a tech day for food/beer but it may be easier in better weather.

Casual meets are at Kellers drive-in on wednesday nites weather permitting. There's talk of finding a suitable indoor venue for bad weather nights but nothing decided on as of yet. Check this forum for info.

Cool, right down the street at Northwest Hwy and Abrams? I saw "Keller" mentioned somewhere as a location for meetups, and thought it was Keller, TX so quickly forgot about it...

Yep,Jack Junkies is pretty much made for folks like you. They are open T-Sun. I have a nice garage and still use them to the lifts and climate control sometimes. I'll be over there this afternoon for an hour or so to adjust my exhaust. Keep an eye out for a possible Wed meet-up there during the winter cold months.

Cool, I emailed them last night asking about tires. Do you know what kind of balancer they have? I wonder if it's a GSP9700...
