Stolen red hardtop!!!
last night, one of our fellow Miata brother's hardtop was stolen near george bush and the toll way
they smashed the passenger window and took it!
Some of you know the car, it's Daniel's red '91. It was at the Jack Junkies event last night(last to arrive with black wheels)... for those who happen to see the worst coat of red paint they've ever seen, that's the top!
It also has a vin# engraved in the glass, I'll update if he finds the number.
any information would be appreciated!

might want to get that vin to the PD so they can let body shops know, or call around yourself.

Is the engraved VIN different than the VIN of the car? If it's the same as the car it should be on his insurance and title documents. Title should be stored away from the car and insurance docs should be available online.

If the top pops up on Craigslist I remember looking at the back silver latches and seeing that the paint goes over the black rubber on the passenger side(not sure about drivers side) right at meeting point. Maybe that can be used to help identity it?
But blah that sucks so much.

ouch... that's not good. That make me think what I would do if I own a hardtop. Install an alarm? or hide a solar powered chip that displays it's location?? or just go with softtop so that I can sleep better at night.

When my Integra was stolen, I replaced it with a Miata specifically because the theft rates were more reasonable. I mean, it's not like you can swap Miata parts into a $500 econobox. I thought I was safe(r).
If another of my cars gets stolen, I'm dialing 1911, not 911.
Oh, well I've got two sevens, and two sevens beats a frush.
