There are hundreds of "good" Merlots under $20... I'm partial to the Aussies for some bizarre reason... I want the tips on the "great" Merlot under $20.

Finding NA's with less than 70K miles nowadays can be tough. It is 2013. As mentioned before, funcarsforsale.com has "pristine" NA's quite frequently, but you have to pay a pretty penny.

I know. Some folks have a mileage hangup and enough money to accommodate it. I, myself, have neither of those conditions, but this buyer does. They don't mind spending the money. Who am I to judge? Heck, I wish I had enough coin to simply grab what I wanted without concession.

At any rate, this is a good opportunity for a seller. I have a ready buyer who is willing to pay a premium for an unmolested, low mile car. If it turns up here, that's fine. If not, that's fine too.

^ I presented that one, however it is a SNC car. If it were a little newer it would be ideal.

Why is the person so worrieda bout SNC car? It's not a big deal, just have someone who knows miatas do the maintenance and it will be fine. That car above looks pretty nice.

Oh yeah, my wife like Redwood Creek Merlot.

That sure is a lot of mules. I'd be concerned about hoof marks if I were you.

+1... that thing looks super nice.

As for POS's car, 135K miles is nothing... it's just barely broken in.

    Now... let the nut-kicking continue!

I know... On both counts. It is irrational. My first Miata was a SNC with 242k on the clock. Not a lick of trouble. You cannot convince some folks though. And you have to admit it is probably a reasonable fear to have; the idea is a reliable high mileage sports car is a little oxymoronic.

Those are simply the criteria I have to work with. And really, if that is truly what they want and they are willing to pay for it, why argue? It is what it is. I'm just trying to help a friend out.

Wine is for sissies. Or hairdressers.

By the way, has anyone got a good source for importing whisky? I've been using TheWhiskyExchange.com to get my Glen Ord fix, but damn they're pricey.

Then all I can say is good luck... some people put way too much stock in "low miles" when, in reality, letting a car sit around is possibly the worst thing for it. I'd be a tiny bit concerned about a short-nose car, but if you have it checked and maintained by somebody who knows what they're doing (and we have plenty of guys here who do), then it should be a non-issue. Sounds like a finicky friend who's just kicking tires and isn't really serious at this point.

I'd love to know this. Everything i've read is TABC makes online shipping alcohol a pain in the ass so most online companies refuse to ship to Texas. I'd sure love a better way to score single malt at better prices. Maybe i'd actually drink my collection more than just looking at it.

That Glen Ord looks awsome. Never seen it, I assume they don't sell it in the states? I'm more of an Islay man nowadays, but the bottle of Highland (Highland Park 12) I have is fantastic.

No, my friend is way ready to buy and plunk down some serious coin to get what she wants. She has attained a certain affluence and confidence in her life and knows exactly what she is looking for. Frankly, I applaud her.
