ghetto towed it home with a rope![]()
Going to the gym stopped at a lights smoking like crazy out of exhaust. Looked at the temp gauge topped out on the H. I panicking I turned off the engine. The at the light main street and 35 in Lewisville. I car won't start so pushed it with help into a parking lot. I think a heater hose popped when I was on the highway. Sad. Really hope damage is minimal
. Might have caught it too late. Waiting for a ride and or tow. So who takes miata emergencies

If the CAS O-ring is leaking, it can drip on to the heater hose and soften it. That could be the cause of your blown heater hose. Check to see if you need to replace the CAS O-ring. BTDT.
On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

We can help you if you can get it towed to the shop. Sadly, the description doesn't sound good. I'm guessing a minimum of a blown head gasket but may need a head rebuild. Miatas don't like to be overheated.
From Coppell, Stevan (Miata Solutions) would be closer. He's Rogue here on the board. Google Miata Solutions for his contact page.
heater hose behind the engine exploded right at the clamp due to oil seeping from the CAS/valve cover.
I'm lucky I guess. I've overheated mine like 4 or 5 times in the last 2 years. Never run your a/c in summer without a condensor fan. LoL so I run my a/c on the highway and when I get off it overheats so I have to turn off my a/c. Again I'm lucky. one time it was boiling out of the resivoir so I pulled over and let it cool down. Sorry to hear bout the overheating. Did it sound like metal to metal when you tried to start it back up? If so block is toast I would think. Seems to me it would have started back up if nothing worse than a head gasket was blown but then again the compression could have been to low to fire. Keep us updated with what you find out.

It's alive!!!
Check for coolant/oil mixture and exhaust gasses bubbling in coolant. Hopefully you got lucky and had no damage.
left coolant cap open no bubbling for at least a few minutes didnt see any oil no tail pipe smoke only smoke was from what i think was oil i spilled when i refilled it. I think it would be best to schedule an appointment with a doctor (TDR/Miata Solutions) just to make sure its still in good health
Glad to hear it! I was worried. These engines seem to be stronger than we put them out to be. Mine takes a beating all the time with 180k miles and never misses a beat. I have friends that have other makes like honda,vw and sutch. Always hear of stories where they blow headgaskets from racing or something and I redline mine almost every day. LoL
