Default WTB Harddog Hardcore M2 Rollbar

Looking for one of these puppies with double Diagonals, flat black, non-hard top compatible.

Need as much height as I can get.

Don't rule out the possibility of the hardtop version of the HC bars. I think the non-hardtop version works better for shorter people actually. thought I needed the non-hardtop ver. for the same reasons but found that while it was a little higher, the bar sat right above my head, a bad bump in the road and I could have smacked it at the weakest part of my skull, dead center. I've had a concussion level smack in that spot before and it is no fun at all.

The hardtop ver. while a little lower stays behind your head for those situations. A good foamectomy can go a long way to stay under it, and SFI padding is a must.

Sit in a couple before you decide. If you're ever around Euless during the week feel free to swing by and give my car a try. It's a proper padded Hard core hardtop with as low as a foamectomy goes.

I'll have to keep that in mind. I figured if it was slightly more forward it would pass the broomstick test better, but I hadn't realized it would potentially be right above my head. Do you have factory or aftermarket seats (would it even matter)?

My driver seat is slightly different than the passenger seat, I'm not sure if it's wear and tear or if it has already had a foamectomy. I'll need to find out.

I saw your post the other day, and I checked to see if it was even possible to bump my head on my Hard Dog Hard Core Double Diagonal Hard Top roll bar. I am six feet tall and there is no way for my head to hit the roll bar. Even with the seat all the way back bottom and top.

My seats are stock with a mega foamectomy.

Yea 6'2" here and after the foamectomy my head is about an inch below the bar and a couple inches in front of it. My head hits the seat before the bar, but let's just say I hope to never find out where the forces of a rear ender would make my head go, but I have SFI padding on there for a reason.

Got to sit in a bunch of cars with a bunch of bars at the TDR swap meet. There's no substitue for actually sitting in the car. You can't really go off of just height, because torso lengths differ a lot.

I've got an auto power one I'm pretty sure isn't for a hardtop but I need a harness bar I might be willing to sell it if I get a good offer

What I should of mentioned is that my Miata currently has the M2 sport bar. I dug around some more on their site and realized that the hardcore-hardtop version is the same dimensions as my sport bar, so changing to that bar isn't going to give me a clearance advantage (even though I like way the hardcore looks more than the sport, but looks alone aren't worth the $/labor to swap).

I grabbed a tape measure to figure out where the hardcore nonhardtop would be in relation to my current bar and myself. It definitely would be too close for comfort. It looks like the bars essentially line up with the arms of the soft top, and to be any higher the bar HAS to be more forward.

I had checked out the bar on aalvare04's car and I thought it was the non-hardtop version, but it is the hardcore hardtop. He also has an aftermarket seat.

It looks like my best bet at this point is either a foamectomy or aftermarket seats.

Let me know if you want to sit in a foamectomied seat before you take a knife to yours. But I'd go that route...its free.
