    Yup... that's me.

Now that we are in a home, I spent today mowing, pulling weeds and spreading granular fertilizer.

Ah the joys of home ownership! Spent all day yesterday tearing down around 15 sections of wood fence (and their wooden posts). Then I got the joy of mixing up 8 bags of Quickcrete and setting 15 new metal posts.

I've been debating rebuilding my fence. I've already re-built the fence once a couple of years ago after a bad wind storm. However, I've been thinking lately about re-doing the posts with metal posts. Anything different in that construction versus regular wood posts? (Besides the obvious?)

Not really. There are special brackets for using metal posts with wood fences. You auger out smaller holes too. Only 6" diameter hole for a 2 3/8" post.

Yep. You can easily set 2 posts with 1 80# bag.

I've been fencing for three weeks, and it is FINALLY DONE! Three hundred and eighty-four feet of 4-rail white vinyl horse fence, forty-nine posts, three gates, and forty-eight bags of quickcrete. Turned out very nice, and miniature horse number one(Spot) just loved it when he got to run free yesterday, for the very first time.

We saved $3400 doing it ourselves, but it was lots of work. Now I gotta get back to working on the Granbury house. The remaining interior doors came last week and I'm anxious to get them installed and finished. I will be so glad when it's all done............

I bet you will Merv. So you're close to getting the Granbury house done? Then it's back to racing! The fence sounds nice. I like those white fences. You need to host anothe Outlaw gathering so we can see the place.

You guys are making me tired already, and I haven't even fired up the mower! I think when put down the weed killer/fertilizer last fall, they forgot to put the weed killer stuff in it...I have more weeds than I have EVER had in the past...
    Gotta get to work...

As much of a beating fencing is, I think POS got the short-end of the stick!

Congrats Merv and Shelly. I'm VERY impressed. I feel very lazy right now. I did repair one board in my fence that had pulled away from the post.

Seeing the final version of the Granbury place would way
