Thread: 2002 Radiator

    Default 2002 Radiator

Well I got on Mazdaspeed's website this AM to get a new radiator for the '02 and it seems as if Mazda has had a substantial price increase since the last radiator I got from them for the POSIV.

    15-200 p/n BP4W-15-200A RADIATOR - $231.92
So what are you cool kids doing for an economically appealing radiator for an NB??

I've had good luck with the O'Reilly ones. Lifetime warranty is a nice benefit and I've used it. No hassle. They're about $150.00. Get the one for the automatic transmission. It's dual core. Twice the cooling capacity of the manual transmission one.
    ...and across the line.

Ebay had the Koyo OE replacement radiators for $100 or so last I checked, at least for NAs anyway. Mine's been fine for years. Automatic version, yadda yadda.

I've been using the cheap eBay aluminum ones for years with great luck/temps. Hardly ever hear my fan kick on even in the summer, I've got it set to click on at 190 via the aem.

Will a '99 radiator work? I have one that was used for 1.5 to 2 yrs maybe in a box. I put in an all aluminum one for thw track. $100 and it is yours. Search the for sale section. I posted an ad for it a while back.

Just installed an e-way one for $49.99. So far it works great (for three days now). I will let you know how it does in the long run, like a week. Except now they are $50.49. Mine must have been on sale...

Any particular seller?? I'd think a touch bigger radiator may be a good thing.

I picked up a used CX Racing Radiator from slowchildmiata. He was running it on his supercharged miata.

Just follow him and you can pick up the parts as they come off.

I read on the interwebs where Kieth Tanner (who is the William of Flyin' Miata) says the Mazdaspeed had a more better radiator but I can't find a Mazda p/n on this bad boy.

Anyone happen to know the p/n of the Mazdaspeed Miata??

I found the following but no part numbers.

My eBay one is DNA motoring brand, not that it matters. All the shit from china is probably the same manufacturer.

The MSM does have a thicker core (couple of MM) than the standard NB radiator, but I'm sure they charge an arm and leg for it.

Looks to me like it uses a different fan shroud as well.

Yea I noticed that as well. Can't really find much info on if the Stock NB fans will fit instead of finding a set of Mazdaspeed fans which seem to have more complex wiring (multispeed?) from what I have seen.
