If you get a chance this is a blast to watch! Especially the new UTA active aero car!
University of Texas at Arlington will be hosting the 13th annual "Texas Autocross Weekend" July 20-21. The original intent for the event was for Texas and Oklahoma school FSAE programs to get together, but it has grown to be a national event with University FSAE programs from Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, Ohio, Canada, Alabama, South Dakota, Florida, Michigan, etc. joining for a weekend of pure FSAE racing. Timing/Scoring and event support will be provided by Texas Region SCCAboth days.
The competition will be at UTA's big lot. Saturday will be a traditional FSAE course in the morning and a more open course in the afternoon. Sunday’s event will be more of a traditional SCCA autocross. Last year they had 11 schools represented, about 30 FSAE cars, and over 200 students attending the event.
Spectators are allowed!
Nice piece on npr tonight. Gotta see UTA's computer controlled wings tomorrow.
