The Apple store will trade out a new one for $125. Getting a screen fixed on the 4 is about $80. But the top and front buttons will break within 1.5 - 2 years. Plus the battery life starts to diminish. Having replaced 3 phones it was easier to get the new one from Apple.

Thanks Ken. She has only had it for about 2 weeks so not sure if an exchange would buy her much

Plus the bill on this is on her so I'm sure she is going to want to go cheap.

Motorollow's son used to fix those phones for a very reasonable rate. PM him about it.

My son's source in China dried up, so I dont think he can fix it. Also we live about 50+ miles from POS.

So anyone on the Ft. Worth side of town got any real world experience with getting an iPhone fixed?

Buy her an Otterbox case if you can. They protect the phone pretty well. My son broke the front and back of his iphone 4. He put a metal back on it, replaced the front glass and installed a better microphone. He said its not hard if you can get the parts.
