Thread: alternative and inexpensive tires?

    Default alternative and inexpensive tires?

Im suddenly in desperate need of 4 tires. Ive been using Falken Ziex 912s that I bought from discount tire last year, but now i cant seem to find a set anywhere. I was able to get them for less than $50 because I work for a dealership.

Is there a cost-comparable and performance comparable tire available in the north dallas area?

I seem to be able to find 195/60r-14s, but prefer the lower sidewall look of the 185s.

Check out Discounttiredirect.com. They've got your Falken Ziex 912s in 185/60r-14 for $63 a tire. right now they've got a $50 rebate so if you buy a set of 4 the effective cost is @ $50 a tire. oh yeah, and it says free shipping...

I just got a set a few weeks ago. Went to the local discount tire and they gave me the discounttiredirect price & rebate. They had to get them from the warehouse but had them in a day or two. Went back to pick them up but haven't installed them yet. getting every last bit of wear out of my current set first

Kumho AST's are a decent tire. I daily drive them and have been on the track with them. They are about half the price of Star Specs, but they do NOT perform nearly as well as Star Specs either.

Had a set of AST's and they wore out way to quickly for an "All Season Tire". I'm on my second set of Falken Ziex RE-912. Love them.

AST's suck. Wear out quick and don't stick. If you want a long lasting tire get Falken SN211. With a 720 treadwear they should last till the end of time.

I'm also really happy with my second set of Hankook V12's, though not as cheap as you want and not sure if they come in your size. So...never mind.
