I was warm and cozy all weekend long.

Drove the S in to work this morning (roads in my area were fine) and the heater in my building is broken. FML.

Karma's a bitch. Missed you guys at the S2K party... A shame no one who actually owns one showed up!

Drove the wife to work downtown this morning then ran 121 to Hwy 10 to get to the world headquarters.

Far left lane still had a ton of ice and slush in them and of course some asshole in a US built big 4 door lifted 4X4 pickup decided that was his express lane. Blasted past and sprayed crap all over those of us who were in the ice free lane. Finally Skippy ran out of talent and collected not just one but 2 concrete barriers and thankfully no one else.

As I rolled past the wreck the driver was out of his truck looking at all the damage and looked like he was about to cry. So I gave him my best Nelson.

Yeah, this weather did a number on Mel's asthma. She didn't want to go and I didn't want to go solo, so we sat it out.

Dang it! Why couldn't I see a douche bag driver wreck? I saw quite a few but they passed me and went on. No karma voyeurism for me!

I really really wanted to see the a-hole in the Hummer H2 spin into a fixed concrete barrier.

Granted, I haven't seen a whole lot of ice down here, but I'm sure somebody could've called me the a-hole d-bag driver a couple of times. I scored time in the folks' Chevy Traverse because it has such modern conveniences as "heat" and "defrost" - which my truck currently lacks (tech day to pull out the dash, anyone?). The other day, when I went over to the west-ish side of town where there was a tiny bit more ice, I noticed that everyone else seemed to be driving like arrogant a-hole d-bags - crawling along dry roads at 15 mph with their 4-ways on, because there was ice visible on one side of one lane that hadn't been used in two days. THIS is the kind of shit that will drive me into a rage, and I probably cut off a few of these idiots in passing.

I think there is a difference between passing slow movers and blasting past a long line of traffic in an iced over lane. Westside got it much worse than us.

I disagree Rick. Having my kids in the car, I am taking my time and remaining in control of my car. Driving in ice is nothing to mess with. It's silly for you to go into a rage when someone is only driving within their own comfort zone.

I agree with Sharpie. When there is ice or there may still be ice on the road, caution is a wise decision. On dry roads, slow drivers are an annoyance though.

I had a guy tailgating me on the way home last night. The freeway was full, ice still on the bridges. Normally I'll just turn on my flashers momentarily and people get the idea to back off. Not this guy. Every time I drove carefully across the ass patches, this guy was half way up my tail pipe. If I was in a winter beater I would've brake checked his ass.

Re-read my post, guys... the a-holes I saw were driving on DRY ROADS. Seriously, the roads were DRY and they were still crawling around at 15 mph with their 4-ways on.

Yes, I'm going to go into a little bit of a rage and pass these bumfucks.

FWIW - On my Ranger it was a Vacuum leak. (Yes Ford Used Vacuum to switch about parts of the HVAC rather than that new fangled 'lectricity.)

Yep... this acts like a vacuum leak. You can turn the heat on and hear it sucking and switching, then you get some semblance of heat for about 30 seconds until it gradually gets colder and returns to ambient temp.

After spending today on the Streets of FtW, I agree with Rick.
Idiots going slow in the speed lane, If you skeered the get over, and go as slow as you want.
Roads aren't that bad, but all the smart people must still be home.
The Idiots are out in full force, and they are not using their signal.
Had a nice close call from two of those jackass lane changers.

Nice having a car you really don't car if you dent, and I can fix it.

I had a business trip this week, flying out Monday and returning last night. I took the 93LE. I suffered from irrational and uncontrollable butt pucker every time I went under an overpass. The only actual issues I experienced was bottoming out as I crawled over the ice cobblestone on the overpasses around the airport on Monday.
