Well ive been gone for a while so i figured it was time for me get back on here. Currently im deployed and have been getting a bunch of parts for my jeep back home, now its the miatas turn. Before i left i changed the head gasket on my miata and was driving it daily while the jeep was getting worked on. But since ive been away the miata has developed some issues. And when i get back i really dont want to be spending all my time working on. I hate to admit it but i would really like to just pay for the services that it needs. My boss back home has started the miata for me every once and a while to keep everything moving. he recently sent me an email saying its smoking like crazy when he startes it and that when he checked the oil level after a month of me being gone, it was extreemly low. The other thing was that the transmission had started acting up a couple weeks before i left and on the last drive to the base (where its parked) i couldnt go over 20mph before the trans started shaking violently. Had to drive it to base at 20mph lol (luckily i live relatively close).
What im thinking about doing when i get back to the states is simply replacing the engine and transmission. Maybe get the 2 from jdm in arlington. I was also planning on ordering the energy suspension bushing kit while over here so whenever i have the eng/trans replaced id like all this stuff done as well.
Does anyone on here have any suggestions on what to do/where to go. Or could the "goto" guys on here send me a pm to talk about this semi-plan? I would like to drop it off and just have no worries for however long it takes to have all the stuff done, dont really care if its months lol. That way i can have gas saver back and once a month autoX back. I was able to do one autoX in 2013 and that got me so bummed i was about to get rid of the car before i left. Im glad i didnt lol. Being deployed is making me miss my little miata a whole lot lol. Ok thats my rant. thanks for reading!
