    Best car ever!

I notice it's put on a bit of weight since the last press release...

It will still 600 lbs less than my 06!

600lbs less? Not unless your 06 weighs 3000 lbs. Iain was with me at Blytheville when we weighed my NC a few years ago, and it was 2380 with big fat wheels/tires and stock interior, stock header/midpipe. 1/4 tank of ultralight fuel. :)

A year later than it should have been available. It had better be cutting edge or the Miata will struggle to maintain it's place.

I'm pretty sure that's been said quite a few times over the last 25 years, yet the Miata continues to sell well, with zero advertising. Its a halo/image car (Zoom-Zoom), not a volume/profit car. People buy Mazda3's by the dozen, partially because of the sporty image projected by Miatas.

I was just reading the sticker on the door jam. It says 3075 lbs! I just check the sticker on my 99, it says 2835 lbs! Could these just some random numbers Mazda putting on to the cars? I will be a much happier camper if my 06 is under 2400 lbs instead of 3075 lbs!

I think those #'s are referring to gross weight.

That's the GVW ... gross vehicle weight, what it will hold in people and luggage + the weight of the car.......... Somebody correct me if I am off base.

You are correct. GVW is loaded down max weight. Now if the ND numbers are 2400 GVW, I'll be rushing to the dealer asap!
