Default Because I'm too lazy too search for why my windows dont work.

I actually did search, but did not find the answer. My 91 widows don't work. If I kept pushing the switch then enventually they would work. But now they don't. I bought a new (old) switch and still no workie. is there an easy way to check the regulators without having to take of the door panels?
Hmm what is decent? Are we talking about your decent or my decent? I'm just curious because I don't want to offend anyone else's decent...

The switch contacts can carbon up over time. You can try taking the switch apart to clean it. Instructions should be on Miata.net. This is the most likely culprit based on your description. Other things could be the regulators are broken or just need to be cleaned out and re greased. You might also have a broken window guide. There is a guy that posts to this forum that sells Teflon replacements as the Dealer doesn't offer them separate from the glass.
    ...and across the line.

If your regulators haven't ever been cleaned, they need it. If that's the case, you can clean/replace your switches all you like, they'll still burn out from the undue current draw because the regulators are gummed up. Best bet: buy the teflon window guides (and special grease to go with) and do the whole disassemble-clean-reassemble thing. Your windows will work like new.

K, thanks to all. When the do work its pretty darn slow. I guess with all of the low temps it did a number on the grease.

It's not just the temps, it's the age. Even if you reeeeally take your time, doing both doors start to finish is only a couple of hours max. Bonding time with your car.

If it is slow you need an LS swap.
    M3 is always the answer.
