I may be interested, is it a M1 or M2 roll bar?
I would like to buy it
Sorry about being tardy with replies. I'm swamped at work and am traveling this weekend.
As far as M1 vs. M2, I'm not sure as the bar came with the car. I went to HD's website to see if there was a measurement I could make to determine which one it is -- but came up blank. Does anyone know how to definitively tell the difference?
I think it would be safest to assume this is an M1 until I can measure something to be sure it's the later design.
Updated the listing with information that people were asking about. I've had a ton of interest in this (so much that I can't tell who contacted me first), but everyone wants to lowball it to $250. Based on the amount of interest, I think I'll just stick to my price -- so the easy way to get to the top of the list would be to offer what I'm asking, LOL. I think the price is fair considering that this roll bar with its options and shipping would be $500+ new.
I'll do asking price. Just texted you
So much for first come, first served. No matter without knowing which model it is I'm not interested. If anyone else has a glass window/hard top compatible roll bar please let me know, thanks.
Edit: Here is the application guide with measurements:

Not sure there has ever been a first-come, first-served policy, nor a dibs policy. Regardless of what might be nice, its ultimately up to the seller's discretion to do whatever is best/easiest/fastest/whatever for them. The fact that someone stepped up and made him a full price offer and indicated they were a motivated buyer made it easy, i suspect. I know that I've had dozens of deals that would have been a pita if I'd waited for every interested party to communicate, make-up their mind, meet my asking price, etc. Congrats to the seller, and everyone else should realize they have to be ready to jump on a deal if its important to them.

No hard feelings, I just try to treat others how I want to he treated in all matters of life. As I already stated I'm no longer interested since its not glass top compatible.
Sorry if I offended anyone. I was swamped with replies (both here and CL) and really did lose track.
I will say that "I may be interested, <insert question>" is a lot different from an offer/acceptance standpoint than "I'll do asking price." And, since Black Roadster positively identified this bar as an M1, it's not NB glass window compatible anyway.
Also, it's not over yet because lolmx5 still has to come over, be satisfied that I've honestly represented the item and do the transaction.
FYI, that application guide isn't much help for differentiating M1 vs. M2 -- that only tells you if the bar fits a hardtop. The dimension needed for glass windows is the separation between the back braces, how the diagonals connect and whether there is a harness bar in the way.
No offense taken Rick. I have bought a fair amount thru Miata forums and they usually give "dibs", if that's what you want to call it, in the order of interest received so that's what I have come to expect but it is your right to sell as you see fit. I only said "I'm interested" because an exact product description was not provided to clarify which exact roll bar it was. I feel as if we're beating a dead horse, so hope the sell works out for you and truly no offense taken.
Thanks for the clarification William! That will help me with me search of a roll bar and I had planned on adding a harness bar to the roll bar I get but now that I know that location of a weld in type won't work with a glass top then I will go a different route.![]()
In this case, the harness bar was added by the PO (not Bethania Garage). So, once there's a harness bar, I guess it really doesn't matter whether it is M1 or M2 -- a glass window won't work.
I thought something didn't look "right". Yeah, the harness bar was added but it's still a M1 because the rear braces are straight.

The bar with a harness bar would run $510.00 shipped so the price is very fair. GLWS
