    Yeah, I agree with Samm. Its not horrible, but he is paying too much based on the roll bar, I suspect. Its a 1.6 car with a fair bit of issues and bad paint. Without the Roll bar its really a $1500-$200 car that will need to have money spent on it. There are better choices.
    At the same time, if he is motivated to work on it and tackle the projects, offer $1800 on it and come up to $2k, and he's got a fun driver that he could get his money back out of by pulling the aftermarket parts and selling separately along with the car, even if he has invested a few hundred bucks in repairs.
