    Question Scca sts & abs

Does this mean ABS is not legal for STS class?

    D. Original equipment ABS braking systems may be electrically dis-

abled but may not be removed or altered in any other way.

Nope... it just means you can pull the fuse if you don't want it, but can't remove the ABS plumbing to save weight.

On a miata, there isn't really any reason you wouldn't want it, but more modern abs systems often can't be overridden or have very intrusive ice modes and such. Some even suggest doing this on my new Mini to avoid excessive break use/heating on the track, where the e-diff gets activated a lot.

Make sure that if you are buying a NA 1.8 that you could get it from the factory with ABS and an open diff.
