Default Equipe Rapide Challenge Cup #10 November 2nd Lone Star Park

    Hi guys,

Come out for the "trifecta" autocross at the horse racing track. The "trifecta" meaning that it is USGP at COTA, NASCAR at TMS, and Daylight savings time change weekend.
I know none of you are Frenchy lovin F1 dorks so that won't be a problem. Except for Blanton Payne none of you are redneck enough to skip real racing to watch NASCAR. And you actually get to sleep 1 hour more. Maybe even Mark Wortham can make it on time.

I hope to see you out there at this year end finally.

It looks like myself, Mark Madarash, and Mike McShane are all within a point for overall season PAX (need to double check).

I hope I can make it to this one.

PAX is 25 points for first and 1 point for 25th. After 6 events you get 50 point bonus. We score your best 7 finishes. The pax season points should be posted this evening. It is pretty close for the top 6 positions. The outcome of the final event Sunday will go down to the wire.

Online registration goes through 0001 Saturday.
Get signed up early and often.
If you have problems, e-mail either Andy or myself and we'll get you fixed up.

(early registration makes it easier to put together the run/work order)

I tried to register early last week but it wouldn't let me keep my number because someone else had it in a different class.

Numbers can be corrected on site, or email Andy Cost. If it won't let you have a number, it means that someone in your class has it (or class group, like Novice) or it is a reserved number for a member who pre-payed the season. One of the many perks of doing the pre-pay, which also gives you reserved work assignments and is discounted so that you get 10 events (+ test-n-tune) for the price of 7.

Being new to AutoX and this group, this is the first I have heard of the PrePay. Sounds like the way to go!

When does the 2015 schedule come out?

I think I am hooked and am looking forward to my first full year.

Its a great deal. The schedule should be finalized and released by the beginning of the year. We try to coordinate with the other clubs to avoid overlapping events.

    Was the course too dangerous?

We had to eliminate the slalom through the trees and the light pole as an apex. The rest was just fine.

The jump ramp was reduced to 18", and the "j-turn tail-first finish" was requested to have more than 50' braking zone, so I'm revising.

With the big bump running through the middle of the entire lot you really don't need a ramp. Aaron's Mario Cart flyby and spin proved that. An increase in braking zone will just give Ken additional cones to wipe out upon his twirling finish.
