Default Cruise to Loco Coyote/Glen Rose - 1/10/15 (WeatherPermitting)

    My fellow Miata brethren,

Just passing along some info on a drive thats been organized for this weekend, assuming we have no wet stuff. A few of us are wanting to get out for a bit on Saturday, head down to Glen Rose and grub it up. If you haven't heard/been to the Loco Coyote it might be a good little trip for you. This place is legit and properly in the middle of nowhere. I'm not really interested in tearing ass through the hillside, just a good mild drive with our friends on some twistyish roads. This will def be a family friendly thing if you have kiddos or wife. Got some Rotrex NCs, ESC NCs and swapped NCs coming if you want to oogle. Looking to be back in DFW before 5pm.

    Meeting here @ 9am:
    Iris Bagel & Coffee House
    5801 Interstate 20 Frontage Road
    Arlington, TX 76017

Always up for LC! But, leaving on a business trip that day.

Forecast says snow, and Glen Rose is usually much colder than the Metroplex for some reason.

Your meetup time says 9PM. Assume it should be 9AM?

Sounds like a great time but can't make it this weekend. I've already got another drive planned.

I may be in for this pending weather. Haven't hit the Coyote in years and really miss highway 51.

We are starting in Allen by looking at a private car collector's collection of 50+ cars and then doing a short drive of a bout 120 miles that will end at Classic BMW for the annual BMWCCA "year-end" party. The roads will stay up in the NW section of the Metro-mess.

Looks like this is a go. Ice/snow is completely out of the forecast for us and rain for late sat into sun.

You guys have a safe and fun drive tomorrow. Wish I could do both drives. Post up some details when you get back.

Well it was cold but fun! We met and got pics this morning in the parking lot then headed out at a leisurely pace on a very scenic route without losing anybody! Tough to keep 16 cars together. Then I said my goodbyes at the Loco and ripped up 51 to Granbury at my own pace. Then stopped into MSR to say hi to peeps and use the head then played with a red Porsche from there to about I-20 and 35E. Was a good time. Thanks MarbleGT!

Exellent album Michael! So good to see you again. You made the right call...the second we went south it started to rain and I had ice on my mirrors. No accidents, perfect day though. We need to do another in the spring.

It's been too long since I've done a nice drive. Great turn out. That dude drove a long way from California for a one day drive

Actually he did Sharpie! He lives in Houston now. Moved to Texas from Cali a few months ago and drove up from Houston for this run.

Nice pics MarbleGT! Here's a link to his whole gallery: http://jordancolephotos.smugmug.com/...ruise-1-10-15/ I'm gonna hafta post that last one on my FB page.
