Thread: WTB: a 1.6L roller chassis

Default WTB: a 1.6L roller chassis

So I have slowly been parting together a turbo build & I've got less than $500 into it so far (including motor/trans) & now I have the bright idea to find a roller for less than $1k. I'm thinking I can probably find one w/no drivetrain, no interior, & poor paint for less than $1k. That means I could have a turbo Miata for less than $1500 total investment so I wouldn't be worried if I blew it up.

All I need is a 1.6L chassis w/body, suspension, steering, wiring harness & ECU. Anyways, if you have, know of, or come across something that fits that criteria, please let me know. I'm in no real rush so please keep me in mind.

You can text/call me at 940-595-4971. My name is Nik.

I have a 95M roller that is already stripped, so easy to make a full race car or either use the 1.8 harness or put in a 1.6 harness. I'll let you have it for $200. Needs fenders up front and a hood/bumper, but the chassis is straight and it has a ton of parts still in it. ABS car too.

Hey Mike, does it have all the suspension, steering, rear diff, etc.?

Has steering, suspension, no diff, no brake calipers or rotors. The wiring harness is all there, a fair bit of the interior is there but removed and loose, dash is removed but there, etc.

If you wanted it to be a full blown street car again you'd want to locate fresh carpet, seats, cosmetic stuff, a top, etc. if you want to build a track toy, it's perfect. Clean, straight, no rust, already stripped enough to make putting in a cage or roll bar really easy, customize the wiring and such for turbo and standalone, minimize weight, etc. The bones are all there and good, and a lot of the labor of pulling the junk off is already done. For the money, I think it's a better option than paying $1000 for a complete roller that you will still end up wanting to do a lot of parts replacement on, but yet would probably take about $300-500 to buy all the parts you'd want to make it back into a stock-ish Miata, not including engine and tranny.
you are welcome to come take a look some time. It's in Denton right now.
