This looks cool. Curious what the format will be, especially after dark, with novices.

Are there lights at MSR-C? I was guessing this was going to be TMS roval.

There are not lights and it is country dark out there.

TMS lights are only on the oval part. The infield is very dark.

Seems like it would be fun but I would be concerned.
    M3 is always the answer.

TMS has lights for the infield.

And even without those all they have to do is turn on the TV. It is so bright I can see light from it inside my house 3 miles away.

No track experience period, no experience with track layout, country dark...what could go wrong?

The event runs from 3 to 9. The sun doesn't set until 8. Won't be dark till around 8:30. So plenty of time to get your laps in before it gets dark.

Novices have trouble seeing the flagging stations at high noon. The setting sun should make it even easier to see.

Lol. I'm gonna guess it's lead-follow or mandatory instructors for any novice. I can't see SCCA doing this and promoting it so heavily without having planned for minimal risk.

I'm in, definitely April and May. Sounds like fun in the advanced group.
I'll try out the run/work idea to see how it goes.

Interesting that SCCA regularly bombards my email with notices about merchandise and events elsewhere, but no SCCA member I've talked to (several who run at MSR a lot and/or are members of MSR) have been contacted about helping out by instructing.

Going to go just to see who is involved. Bob Neff (Texas Region RE) says it is being run by the national office and Heyward Wagner. He only got a contact to help get corner workers.

Would have thought the SCCA would have done a zip code search of member database and reached out to existing members for help. Guess that makes too much sense or takes too much effort.

Agree. I was going to do it if an instructing opportunity was available, but I haven't seen/heard a peep about it, other than the silly email asking for people to promote it.
