Thread: RIP trickyrix

    Default RIP trickyrix

I know many of you don't follow the MME Facebook Group but I just found out and thought I'd pass on the devastating news.

Rick Orwig passed away today. I'm absolutely shocked.

Godspeed my friend. Hit all the apexes on the way.
    ...and across the line.

I'm so sad. RIP Rick. A bolt out of the blue for me. I had no idea he had health issues.
On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

I was told he was having trouble breathing today and went to the hospital, where he had a heart attack.

RIP Rick, I'll miss your warm smile, genuine hugs, and smartass remarks. Today is a very sad day.

You'll be sorely missed. Looking at my phone I texted with you more than my wife.... She called you my girlfriend when we'd banter a night.

It's taken me a few hours to process Ricks loss. I'm stunned. Such a loss to the DFW Miata community, but more so a loss for countless friends. And he was a friend, to almost everyone he ever met. Just exchanged pm's and some laughs yesterday. Irreplaceable.

I remember my last Hallett coming home and laughing our ass off cause he could hardly get out of the car with the racing seat in. Never a good day when a friend leaves us too soon.

Shocked. Sad. One day here, and then gone. Much too soon. But, now he's gone on a place where the Mavs/Rangers/Stars always win and he can pick from any of the great tracks to drive on. Vaya con Dios Rick.

One of the best friends I've ever had. We shared many beers and secrets on his back porch last year.
Still in shock that he's gone, and I still keep expecting him to text me any moment...

He was one of those true great guys! Always there to help when needed! I remember I had an alternator failure coming back from MSR. He was there by the side of the highway digging in until it was fixed and followed me home! I can't believe you'r gone, Rick! RIP!
