^Thanks..if disco'ing the cat doesn't fix it, next thing will be to pull the fuel pump and look in the tank.

With all the rain we've had, water in the gas would not surprise me!

You should double-check on a warranty with this car. Do you still have the paperwork from the sale?

Driveability symptoms such as a drop in fuel economy, lack of high speed power, rough idle or stalling are classic symptoms of excessive backpressure due to a plugged converter. Checking exhaust backpressure and/or intake vacuum will tell you if there's a blockage

Pulled the cat and muffler yesterday, still intermittent sputter/loss of power. Pulled the fuel pump, and the gas is clear. I'm not sure where to go next.

When was the last time you replaced the fuel filter? Had a buddy with a car that had sediment that settled in the fuel filter. Once the car was underway, it would block flow and cause sputters and mis-fires. Took forever to figure it out because the car always started and ran fine initially. After stopping, the sediment would settle again and everything would be fine for the next start.

Fuel filter is < 1 year old. It will run fine, sputter for a bit, and then run fine again. I bench tested the coil pack, but maybe I should do that again.

How are the injector o-rings? Did you reuse your 93LE injectors?

I seen him replace them with new fancy flow matched injectors! He did that the same time he replaced the engine.

I've thought about the injectors, they are new as mentioned. The main thing to remember is it started acting this way after one of the heater hoses was leaking.
The engine bay had a nice steam bath for a few minutes before I saw was what happening.

New fancy injectors aren't always a good thing. If they were actually worked on there is a chance of infant mortality depending on what was done. Ask me how I know.

He shook them really hard. Never, never, never shake a baby injector.
