A couple of board members here who are hardcore track junkies are planning to buy TC lightweight hardtops. The cost of these with the windows/seals/hardware to make them reasonably waterproof is $810 with a weight around 20-25lbs, so a pretty nice weight saving over the 45-50lb OEM hardtops. One of the main cost drivers is shipping from FL. Shipping is high because of bulk, not weight. So, ordering several at once and sharing the shipping is the way to go.
These are track-quality hardtops. They are not SM/SSM legal. I would not use these on a daily driver. The objective here is to lower weight and go faster around the track while still having reasonable waterproofness for driving/towing to the track.
Just thought I'd put it out to the group to see if anyone else is interested in joining us.
Haha. Yep. There's the pot calling the kettle . . . .
Takes one to know one!
Honestly I'd like to buy one, but I've been distracted by a new hobby.
