Thread: ND Vs NC

    Default ND Vs NC

This is just off the HOT mail box. The 2016 ND (GT)/2009 NC (Sport with LSD) comparison from GRM is my hand. The average ax time is 58.25 vs 58.4475, a 0.1975 in favor of the ND ! The runs are done on Rival S. But looking at the lateral g and speed graphs. They are as close as you can get them. At first glance, if you want to win the national championship, spend $32K and get the ND, otherwise, NC is till competitive for the average Joe! I think I am just as happy with $32K in my pocket driving the moded 06 NC for now! After all, I am a TCB! If I feel like driving a smaller Miata, I still has my 99!

It depends on if they tested an NC with 5 years autocross setup work in it and an LSD (maybe shocks also?) vs. an ND with no LSD and just an alignment and tires and it was faster than the NC right out of the box. Things do not look good for the NC.

I have not seen the test yet.

The 09 is Chris Harvery's nationally competitive car. Both cars run similar alignments and same tires. Yup, you will be faster after spending $32K if you are national champion material!

The NC had $4K Penke's on it...it is fully prepped. The ND was the wine/cheese model..open diff, etc.

FWIW - The NC may not be the car to have in C Street looks like you need a Toybaru FRZ they have won 4 of the 5 SCCA Championship Tours so far this season. The NC has won one.

Let's hope it goes to CS and not BS!....(Based on past experience, one sure fire way to have it moved to BS would be for me to buy one! ) So I guess I'll have to hold off for now... Lighter and faster sure sounds fun though!

I think it would be buried in BS. CS looks right for it with the twins and Z, but who knows.

First year, unknown performance, and beats a prepped NC = B Street. It might get moved next year based on the money Mazda spends with SCCA.
    M3 is always the answer.

Maybe, but they tested it in a situation that was more trackish than autox specific. Also, the NC isn't the benchmark for CS anyway, IMHO. BS is a pretty tough place to play, with the Vettes and S2k, MSR, etc.

Going by the test if anything it will do even better in a real autocross than the test. It ripped through the slalom.

The NC is not the most popular pick for C Street, but the car tested was Sports car pick to win Nat. Looks like a B Street car to me. The real question is will it go to STR.

Sure hope it's STR. The Stooks need some competition.

After looking at the test again. It really didn’t make the time in the slalom. It made almost all of it in the section after the skidpad. I am still thinking B-Street just not to upset the C-street apple cart, but we will see.

Glad I don’t have to make the decision. Either put a popular car in a harder class or make all of the current cars in a class also rans.

Maybe they'll move the NC to ES, and put the ND in CS!

They can come play but they have to leave Mr. Torsen at home.
