Thread: Bridgestone RE71R wear

    Default Bridgestone RE71R wear

My RE71Rs are finally out of tread. I got 197 runs out of them on a variety of surfaces. Contrary to my initial concerns, they held up very well. If you're worried about quick wear, then it is not an issue, at least on my Miata. I am not easy on tires, either. I am going to try the Rival S, but I would not have a problem buying another set of RE71Rs. Joe Bob says, "Check them out."

Good to know. Hopefully the Rival S wear is pretty similar. I'm planning on getting those next year (RE71Rs don't come in 225/45/15 ), and I hope that I can make them last the season.

Joe Bob Briggs is a movie critic who used to say that.

I thought it was some guy who sold tires and made pies.

I was one of the people concerned about how fast they would wear. At 100 runs the Bridgestones in the front look good for another 100 runs. The BFG’s on the rear have not done near as well. At 100 runs they are about done. I am sure that the excess wear in the back is due to a vary lose car. Hopefully once I get the car fixed I will get more runs out of the back tires.

I have been happy with the amount of runs I have gotten out of both of them.

    For people that don’t know me, that’s on a C5 ZO6.

I bought a used set of Rivals (not the S's) a few years ago. They were sticky 'til the end, when they were worn out.

I'm due for tires next season, but now not sure which way to go.

I just ordered some Rival S while the rebate was active. I need them for SCCA Club Trials in Jan and Feb.

I shouldn't have mentioned it. We don't want the riff-raff there. It's bad enough that KenO found them.

Having been thru 4 sets of the RE71s i can say they do not fall off. Drove the BFGs during a shock test and they are different in what they want but i think they are equal or maybe better if you change spring and bar to match what they do well which is sweepers.

Single day at TWS was $125. I guess we'll know the cost of the MSR event once they post it on Motorsportreg.

I just verified that the MSR event is Sat only. Five 20 minute sessions. Leilane will be driving my car.
