Does it come with the side brackets?

A buddy of mine had his 94 Miata totaled in a parking lot while his hardtop was hanging on the garage wall. That was a couple of years ago and he still has the top. He's got a lot of personal stuff going on so I told him I'd sell his hardtop for him and lighten his mental load a bit.
As for the top itself, it's in great shape. I looked it over today and saw no cracks or damage except for two small nicks on the lip right behind the passenger side window opening. If they really bothered you, they'd touch up easily. Other than that, the paint is in great shape. It's got a defroster and no tint. He has the striker plates too but couldn't put his hands on them in the two minutes we looked. I don't have pics, but it's an OEM hardtop and if you're in the market, you know what it looks like.
I can deliver in the metroplex if that helps. $1000 cash, firm.

Yes, as soon as he finds them in his garage. He's sure he has them (the striker plates) but, as I noted above, he couldn't find them on the spot the minute I offered to get his hardtop sold. Honestly, if I was going to use my hardtop on a regular basis, I'd get some hardware to bolt it on for security reasons. As it is, I put mine on for occasional use and I don't even use the side brackets at all (they interfere with the Hard Dog roll bar).
Ok, thanks. Please update when he finds the striker plates.
Update: the hardtop owner has found the striker plates (included in sale)!
Are you interested Bob?
Offer 900, settle on 975, then spend $100 for some vinyl wrap. Everyone wins.

Last bump before craigslist.
Yes, he's not in a rush to sell (obviously, if it's been hanging on his garage wall for two years).
$1100 for a defroster HT in good shape is market price. He will sell it quickly on CL at that price, though plenty will try to convince him its worth less. Tell him to wait for the first col, rainy weekend and he won't be able to sell it fast enough.

$900 seems a fair offer to me to open negotiations. Was there a counter by the seller or was your offer ignored?
IMHO, $1100 is top of the "market price" for red-defrost in very good condition. Red looks just "ok" on non-red but mostly bad so a non-red miata owner will have to repaint it. There's probably a red miata owner out there for it but it will not sell fast at that price so it's a good thing the seller is in no hurry.
Just my 2cents.
Like I said, he's not in a hurry. As many red Miatas as there are out there, a buyer will surface.
