Question Regarding 94/95 NA Miata

Honestly by the time you pay tax title and transfer you will have $4k in it. You are going to pay $500 to $1k for a full paint restoration. That said I think a '94 R with 57K miles on it that is shiny is going to bring $6000 in April or May if listed on national websites. Someone out there is going to want a low mile R. The only downfall is that it's red. Any other color would probably bring more with that mileage. If you take care of it, you will always be able to get your money out of it unless you drive it 100k miles in which case you'll have gotten your money's worth in smiles.

Just did it through the website and its the A package. I wonder why the rep at Mazda told me its an R?

All this being said, is this still worth $3000 if it's an A package?

The mileage makes it worth more, but really only to the right owner if they are targeting mileage and originality. 94 red A-package is not unusual, highly-desirable, or special. Its a good, basic miata. That said, its priced on the higher end of the market for that car, but makes sense with the low mileage. Its not overpriced, its not a steal.
57k miles means it is due for TB/WP, and its likely that little of the wear items on the car (bushings, hoses, seals) are mostly original from the factory. After 22 years with lots of time sitting unused, they are probably due for service/replacement, or at least inspection.
I don't think it has a torsen, but I'm wrong more than occasionally.

All non base models in 1994 that were manual transmission had torsen LSD according to the PDF.

I definitley need to do TB/WP. I've been looking at miata.net and I'm not sure if I'm ready for this kind of project, since I've only done routine oil changes in my previous cars (I don't want to screw this up) Can anyone here recommend a mechanic that specializes in Miatas? How much does a TB/WP usually run?

I called Bob from funcarsforsale.com, he does a lot of maintenance on Miatas and I was considering doing the 60K service at his shop. It is about an hour and a half away from me though so local places around Plano would be nice.
