Yes. The new Xbox will be backwards compatible "with most popular games." I expect this will be through software emulation since the 360 is PowerPC where the original was a 700 MHz Celeron.
Of humorous interest... All the XBox 360 demos shown on the MTV crapola were running on Power Macs. Heh.
