Thread: Hi from Highland Village!

    Default Hi from Highland Village!

    New Miata owner here!

Last Wednesday, I bought a 2000 with 95k miles with a hardtop. I probably shouldn't have for two reasons:
    1. It has been re-sprayed.
    2. It was leaking oil at an alarming rate.

Otherwise the car was clean and the price was fair. Happy to report that after a weekend of work, the leak seems to be fixed and I can't find any signs of an accident.

I replaced crank/cam seals, timing belt/pulleys/water pump/radiator/belts/oil/filter/yadda yadda yadda and it's running like a champ! And with the re-spray, the car looks pretty good, but not too good where I'm worried about dinging it.

Anyway.. plenty more to do on the car, but that's why I bought it; love having a project around. This car reminds me of my old DRZ supermoto - easy to work on, tons of modifications, and massive online support. Best kind of toy!

Welcome, have fun with your Miata.
On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

Welcome! Have fun! I'm glad swine around here bought a Miata. I was starting to think it was too hard these days.
