I have a hail protector....actually, 2 of them.
There's this company that started up here in Texas a couple of years ago called Hail Protector. Here's the web site:
https://www.hailprotector.com/
It's basically a car cover that can be blown up like a balloon in 5 to 10 minutes. It can be plugged into an electrical outlet and run indefinitely, or run off double A batteries for a couple of hours. It comes with a phone app to receive weather alerts 30 minutes in advance of a hail storm in the area, and a remote to trigger it.
It looks goofy when inflated. It looks like an unusually unattractive car cover otherwise. There are lots of videos of it in action, and it seems pretty effective.
Do any of you have experience with it?

How does it work when your car is stuck outside on the other side of town?
@ OP I have thought of buying one they look pretty cool. Me personally I am not sure I would see a good ROI from it. You are going bring it with you what 2-3? months out of the year for the rare chance you might need it? Would be a lifesaver if you are in your performance/race/collector car. Otherwise for my daily driver I wouldn't bother.

sammm, that's a nice hail protector you got there. I gotta get me another one of those. The one I have is stuffed full of junk, I'm afraid.
Labora, I probably wouldn't carry it with me. I have covered parking at work. If I'm out and about when a hail storm blows through, I'll seek cover. That's taking a chance, but I don't drive the 25AE much in bad weather. That's what the Jeep is for. Most of our hail storms around here occur in the evenings to early morning, so I'd just use the cover when the car is parked in the driveway, especially during hail season, ready to transform into a goofy zeppelin as needed.
This product is hilarious looking. Actually looks like a really good idea, but now i'm getting hungry for Chipotle.
