Looked at an 03 motor recently and there is a form fitting cover on the cam sensor hole
Is this just a storage thing or is there some other reason it would be there?

Nope this is a little egg shaped plate with a 4mm bolt that covers the sensor hole. Just wondering if this is a sign that the motor is something other than a low mileage example or just a cover to keep crap out in storage. Not familiar with any system where the cam sensor is eliminated.
On the front of the valve cover?
NB2 have the cam sensor on the aft of the valve cover.
Its open into the lifter gallery so it would need some substantial type of gasket.
I plan to just use an old cas, everyone with a NB has a bad one of those.
Interested in seeing other options though.
Some of us have new ones made by import direct that are bad...
