That was fast! I got some responses on my post in the introduction section. I'll be taking my car in to miatasolutions in North Fort Worth soon.
Apologies if I'm asking a question that has been answered. Either this section of the forum is a month old, or I'm missing something (and I feel like I might be ... the articles and blogs tabs have a couple posts dated years ago). **edit - my forum view was set to show posts from the past month only. Silly me.
Anyway, I just moved to Fort Worth and I'm looking for a mechanic, preferably a miata and autocross/track day specialist. Any recommendations are appreciated.
My car is a '94 and recently began making a loud noise under throttle. My last work on the car was a catback exhaust, so that might be related, but I really have no idea.
I like to work on the car, but I'm a novice, and I generally need a shop to diagnose everything, and to work on the bigger jobs. I've repaired a decent amount myself - regular maintenance (timing belt, pulleys, seals, water pump, yada, yada), a new clutch kit (stock), shocks, and exhaust.
If anyone has a mechanic to recommend, please let me know. Additionally if anyone here likes tinkering so much that they'd like to have a listen to my car, I can offer beers after the test drive.
I can't wait to get my car back on the road. Thanks for the help!

Well with basically only 2-3 quality choices in all of Dallas-Ft. Worth it isn't real difficult for us to make recommendations.
+10 for Miata solutions, top notch!
+1 for Miata Solutions.
PS: If every one with a positive recommendation for Rogue (Stevan) at Miata Solutions posted in this thread, it would be longe that the Random Crap! thread.
On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.
