Don't have any experience over that way, but this is a good resource.

My daughter is in the process of accepting a teaching position in the Mesquite ISD for next school year. We live on the opposite side of the metroplex so I’m not overly familiar with the area. Her position will involve traveling to most of the schools within the district so proximity to a particular school isn’t a concern. It also doesn’t have to be in mesquite but would prefer a reasonably short commute of maybe no more than 15-20 min. I’m guessing northeast mesquite/Sunnyvale/rockwall might be decent although not sure how traffic on I-30 between rockwall & mesquite is during rush hour. Obviously, and most importantly, the area she moves needs to be safe.
Sometime soon she’ll start her search for an apartment. Does anyone have any suggestions/recommendations on areas to look into or avoid?
TIA

Rowlett is a good area. It is good because it's not Mesquite. :)

Rowlett and Rockwall are much better and safer towns to live than Mesquite! They both are under 10 minutes to most parts of Mesquite.

I wouldn't want to live in the apartments in Mesquite if I am a single young female!

Thanks for the input. She looked around the area some this weekend and really liked the rowlett/rockwall area.
