    Default LFX Swap

Anyone else around here looking at this LFX swap? Looks to me like the best bang for your buck out of all the swaps.

We looked at it, and yes, I think it could be a good swap. One of the more attractive features is that there are no exhaust manifolds, which may make it easier to get it CARB certified.

The issues that plague all big-power Miatas are still there. Big tires and big power just end up tearing the car apart. There are some real electrical hurdles with this one, but at least it's not forced induction.

I was thinking that was the advantage of this swap over the Honda J series. It's a little extra money but your getting a stronger transmission and a Ford rear end. There have already been a couple of Miata transmissions that cratered under the J series.

Flyin' Miata seems to be the best source for V8 swaps. I think they have successfully swapped an LSX into every generation.
    M3 is always the answer.

LFX not LSX. The Camaro V6 motor.

The m.net thread describes the rear end as being out of a CTS, I thought.

    Why not have a V8?

$30k and really too much power to track it IMO.

Also your subject is LFX and text body is LSX. Freud would suggest you really want a V8.

Is that the same GM 3.6 that had all the timing chain issues??

Yes it is. Looks like GM addressed the issue midway through 2011. Must be why Ryan grabbed a 2012.

Woah could you put a lotus engine in a Miata? I know they're mid engine but maybe one of the Toyotas they were used on?

Or something else cool like that, who knows? The possibilities are endless. No they're not.

I was really considering the lfx swap, but I honestly rather have a v8 under the hood, although the lfx engine is awesome in a miata!
