Looking for a 4.3 torsen at a decent price.

If you can't find a Torsen, I have a 4.3 TFS w/ carrier and 2yr old Mazda Comp bushings. $250
A TFS is little lighter than a Torsen, but only 2 to 1 rather than 2.5 to 1 for a Torsen.

Thanks. Not very good in a solo application.

Do you mean it's not good for Auto X or what?

Not optimal in a CSP application

    1. TFS are not as rugged, won't handle high power, likely for a CSP car
    2. TFS is 2 to 1, so won't put down as much power to the non-slipping wheel as a Torsen's 2.5 to 1
But for some applications the TFS is better, i.e. Spec Miata at Road Atlanta, low power, no tight corners, long straights where the less weight helps.

For whatever it's worth I grabbed mine from a local junkyard for $650 with axles. I just used the axles for core exchanges. I didn't find it too hard to find one locally, they were reasonably common. Just need to find a PEP or higher package 1999 that came with a 5 speed. You can call Mazda with VINs to confirm the package that came with any car. The 2000 to 2002s you just need to confirm its an LS with the 5 speed. 2003 and up is no longer torsen.

Edit: once you can look at it, you can confirm its a torsen by looking in the axle holes and seeing the disk with a hole inside. If it's open you will look straight thru.

There are 3 possibilities at AAA auto in Dallas, another at eagle mountain in ft worth, and another out at Hi-Way in Tyler. I'm sure one of those is a locking diff.
