You can just ignore it.
If it bothers you that much, the lifters can be pulled, disassembled and cleaned. If you do it at the same time you change your timing belt, it's probably an extra half-day of work.
Hey Guys and Gals
So the lift tick goblin has returned to my 95M. (178k miles) I have tried the following, but it still seems to tick after a hard driving, even an hour later.
Ive tried:
Rotella t5 and wix filter two separate times
When that didnt work, I tried a "2twistys flush" with atf and 10w 30- recommended on Mnet- ( I might have messed this up, as it calls for sae 50, didnt realize it until after I finished it) Idled for one full hour. It was on two jack stands in the front if that makes a difference.
Changed to another wix filter and used Rotella t6 this time, and now the tick is back when the car is warm.
Any recommendations or ideas? Is it worth attempting the flush again? Any other oil/filter combos you guys like?
I hope ya'll are doing well!
