    Default Wall hanging a hardtop?

So I'm thinking about hanging my hardtop on the garage wall like shown here http://mostlymiata.blogspot.com/2013/02/project-8.html. I'm not really interested in a cart as it takes up floor space or a hoist as my ceilings aren't that high to begin with so this seems to be a great alternative.

There does seem to be some disagreement online as to whether or not it's ok to hang the top from the rear frankenstein brackets although it appears quite a few people have done this without problems. Just curious if anyone here has hung their tops this way and if I need to be concerned?

My concern has always been that the top's rear brackets were not designed to carry that kind of load...when hung vertically. Given the age of the tops and their construction, I would not trust their ability to "not" fail.

I have used the hoist/harness but that too gives me pause. Best method is cart but as you've noted, it requires floor space. That being said, miatas are short cars so most garages would have floor space in front of a parked miata large enough for a cart with top.
