I don't feel I have enough Cadillac in my life so we are thinking about getting a used 2007–2014 CTS. Looked at a nice '11 CTS last night that was sitting next to an overpriced Tacoma.![]()
After looking at crap pickups for the past couple of weeks we are considering just keeping the Ranger (for now) and get a decent yet cheapish DD / Highway cruiser.
Anyone ever had a CTS? Decent Car? Horror Stories??

M3 is always the answer.
My concern, and this applies to all recent used cars, are the electronic gremlins and the failed sensors. That is why I would rather lease a new car in warranty than buy a used car.
Edmunds likes it - http://www.edmunds.com/cadillac/cts/...sumer-reviews/
Looked at a '11 CTS last week. It was a couple pennies more than I had in my mason jar but they seemed motivated to sell. I asked for a carfax and found it had spent the first 3 years of ts existence in Michigan.
So I then looked under the car.... Wow a surprising amount of rust. We get spoiled down here with our rust free cars!
The search continues!
CTS is a good car. I know two people who have owned that generation since new, and neither have had significant issues. verythign they paid to have done at the dealer was stuff you couldve handled yourself, imho.

You should just dump the Ranger and go lease/buy a new Ridgeline. Will do everything you want in one vehicle, and last you 15 years of headache-free driving.

Was the Cadillac Northstar V8 as bad of an engine as google search says?
I know the early Northstar V8's could eat a head gasket on ya but you'd think GM may have improved it during its 18 year life cycle (Introduced in 1993).
In our search for nice non hammered CTS's we have run across a couple of DTS's from 2006–2011 that also fit in my TCB requirements.
^Didn't onething own a DTS that was a flaming?
Northstar's are shit. I also agree that the DTS was basically a bad car. If you want to go TCB on a Caddy, find a low-mileage 1994+ Fleetwood with the LT1-based motor.

Wouldn't you need a four car garage to hold two 'Lacs?

I think I've found the answer to both "truck" and "caddy" questions:
