Don't bother. For local events you still have to sign the waver.
I think the hard card is most beneficial for national events and maybe other things in SCCA.
I just got my SCCA membership renewal letter. Enclosed was an Annual Release and Waiver of Liability agreement that you can complete and have notarized (or signed by an SCCA official). You have to include a head shot picture. You get a photo id hard card for your trouble.
Supposedly it saves you from having to sign and print your name on the liability waiver at each SCCA event. Don't you still have to stand in line at each event to show your card and DL so you can get a wristband? There doesn't seem to be a lot of benefit for all the bother of submitting the form.
Does anyone else here do it? Why?

You'll have to wear your ID card around all day. I think a few people like Neff do it, but not many others.
The annual waiver and hard card are awesome and work great... for every single other SCCA region in the country besides Texas region.
I knew Texas Region was special. :)
Good to know. I'll save myself the effort.
