Default To Be Or Not To Be? Blown Struts on CRV

Should I cough up $1500 to replace the struts on my 07 CRV? My 07 CRV has 145K on the clock. Everything is in very good shape and not use even one drop of oil. The tires are easily good for another 30K miles. The rear struts are leaking. The front struts are OK but possibly on its last leg. It is getting to the point that the rear end is loose in corners and very bouncy back there. I called the shop and they want $1500 OTD for all 4 corners. My original plan is to get the redesigned 2017 CRV. Being a brand new model and dealer inventory is low. I will be very lucky to pick one up at the sticker price. No TCB deal! Should I replace the struts now, or keep driving until I can get a deal later in the year, or bite the bullet and pay through the nose for a new 2017?

Fully assembled new shocks and struts from Monroe run about 500$?? My girlfriend has the same SUV, same situation as you. It can't be that hard to replace since you don't have to disassemble the springs off the shocks with the full replacements. The shop is ripping you off.

    See https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01HQ...P1VPP7EDDXV2H5

So 520 for brand new, already assembled Shocks?

Nothing can be more difficult than doing the rear drivers side shock replacement in an NA Miata.

Parts runs runs around $500. Plus another $100-150 for alignment. Total around $650 for 4 corners. I have done the Miata but not any FWD. I think it will take me an entire weekend if I diy. It is her car I am not sure diy is the way to go.

Why that much for alignment?! Baker at Bedford Tire service center will do whatever you want alignment wise for $60.

Thats alot of nice dinners from all the money you save.

Call John Wagliardo. He can do it for a much better price and get it aligned. Unless the alignment is way off, changing struts won't throw it out so badly that it needs a $150 alignment! $1500 is almost double what you should expect to pay.
